Think and Thank the Lord for 30 Days of Thanks

November is the Season of Thankfulness. This month November Think and Thank the Lord for his many blessings. Brag on God for 30 days of thanks. Everyday give thanks. Of course we should always give thanks unto the Lord every day of the year. Every Praise is to my God , my Deliverer , my Healer, all of my worship. When you see me dancing.( I love to dance -praising Him ( and in the natural too )……… every Praise is to our God!!! Of course we should have grateful hearts all the time. Giving thanks is remembering what the Lord has done for you and to you , your family and the community. Praise is honoring the Lord for who He is – the Lord of Lords, the everlasting King.

Therefore, we should have thankful hearts for the great things God has done in our lives. In Psalm 107 some verses state:

“ O give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good: for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever”. Psalm 107:1

“Let the redeemed of the Lord say so” .Psalm 107:2a

“Oh, that men would praise the Lord for His goodness and loving-kindness and His wonderful works to the children of men! Ps. 107:21

“And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving and rehearse His deeds with shouts of joy and singing! Ps 107: 22

Accordingly, remember to give thanks unto the Lord for all that He has done. Think about His Goodness to you to you. The Lord has allowed you to see another day. He has protected you from dangers seen and unseen. God has done so much so tell it.

In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”  1 Thessalonians 5:18

Can you remember a time when you did something wrong but it worked out for your good?” Carol, a Christian friend shares her story that one day she was reading from the book “Power of Praise” while driving. She realized this was a NO-NO – reading while driving. She said, “It was like I was drawn to keep reading. When I stopped at the traffic light on 7 Mile and Hubbard on my way to tutor some children at a home school, I was still reading when the light changed and I didn’t take off. There wasn’t anyone behind me so no one blew a horn. I just kept on reading and the next thing I knew a car came speeding by going through the green light. I yelled, “Thank You Jesus!”.

Carol explained,”I still had time to go, but I just sat there through another red light and thanked God. Also, I had to give my heart time to slow down because it was racing a mile a minute.  Just the thought of what might have happened If I had not been reading, “Power of Praise” scared me. l would have been hit”.

Carol remembered to thank God for protection for dangers seen and unseen and for protecting her from her own negligence. She wrote this prayer of Thanksgiving.

A Thankful Prayer

Most grateful Father, thank You for opportunities to be able to give You thanks and praise even when I am not following You according to Your Word. I thank You for being God by Yourself for there is no other God like You. “Oh that men would praise the Lord for His mighty Acts.” I praise You for being a God that never slumbers nor sleeps. Amen by Carol Turnbough

So right now begin to think about the Lord’s goodness and thank the Lord. Think and meditate on his loving kindness to you. Then begin to thank Him and brag on God. Tell the Lord how grateful you are and then tell others about Jesus Christ and His goodness to you. Brag on God.

Here are 3 to 7 Days of my “Thank You” to the Lord.

Day 3 Brag on God. Think and Thank Jesus ( all month long and every day) He is good . Meditate and think on all He has done for you and give thanks.

“And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving and rehearse His deeds with shouts of joy and singing! Ps 107: 22

Remember to give thanks unto the Lord for all that He has done. Thank God for His loving kindness to you. Thank Him for his grace, gentleness, greatness. God is good all the time.#Godisgoodallthetime.

Day 4 Brag on God. Praise Him and tell the Lord how thankful you are for Him. Think and Thank. Think of how He came to your rescue time and time again. Give thanks to the Lord all month long.(all the time) #BragonGod #thinkandthank

We are commanded to enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise ( Ps. 100:4). The giving of thanks and praise is the key that opens these gates more quickly than anything else. Try it.

Think and Thank. Praise His name .What are you thankful?

Day 5 Brag on God. It is a Season of Thankfulness-Think and Thank. Think and Thank. First, think of how he has forgiven you, blessed you anyhow in spite of you, worked out situations etc. Second, begin to thank the Lord. He is good . Now say why and give thanks.

“And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving and rehearse His deeds with shouts of joy and singing! Ps 107: 22

Remember to give thanks unto the Lord for all that He has done.

#BragonGod #GiveThankstotheLord

Day 6 Brag on God. Think and thank Him in the season of thankfulness. (All this month and everyday throughout the year)

The Lord, God, the Everlasting Father would love to hear from you. Think about how He delivered you from a situation or habit , picked you up out of depression, forgave you for your sins, and blessed you anyway in spite of you. Say thank you and why.

And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving and rehearse His deeds with shouts of joy and singing! Psalm 107: 22.

Day 7 Brag on God– Think and Thank. In this Season of Thankfulness, think about how many times the Lord has worked out a situation for you that seemed impossible to do, gave you favor, showed mercy to you, delivered you, forgave you…. Count your blessings. Name them one by one. Give Him thanks all this month and as you should every day.

O give thanks unto the Lord! Call upon His name; make known his deeds among the people! (1 Chronicle 16:8-10)

“O gives thanks unto the Lord, for He is good: for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever”. Psalm 107:1

Everyday give thanks. Of course we should always give thanks unto the Lord. We should have thankful hearts for the great things God has done in our lives.

God’s command is “In everything give thanks”; and the command is emphasized by the declaration, “For this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you” (1 Thess. 5:18, KJV). It is an actual positive command. If we want to obey God, we have simply got to give thanks in everything. There is no getting around it.

So Brag on the King of Kings and the one who loves you unconditionally. Brag on God this month and really everyday give thanks to the Lord. Whatever you can say about Him -Tell Him how good and merciful He has been to you. Give a word of thanks.

Day 18- Brag on God and be Grateful. Tell Him how grateful and thankful you are.

Walter Hawkins Lyrics from Be Grateful
(Be-e-e-e-e-e Grateful) Grateful
(Be-e-e-e-e-e Grateful) Be Grateful
Because there’s someone else who’s worse off than you
Be Grateful (Be Grateful)
Because there’s someone else who’d love to be in your shoes
Be Grateful ( Be Grateful)
Oh yeah!
My God said he’d never, never forsake you!
Be Grateful (Be Grateful) oh yeah!
God said he would, he would never, never forsake you!
Be Grateful (Be Grateful) oh yeah!
Be Grateful Hallelujah!
Oh! Be Grateful
The Lord is the light!

Be Grateful (Be Grateful) Yeah, Yeah
Be Grateful
For everything you got!
Be Grateful (Be Grateful) Yeah, Yeah

Day 19 – Brag on God– Think thankfully. How has God been so good to you? – Thankfully count the ways and say it, TELL it, and post it below.

– O give thanks unto the Lord! Call upon His name; make known his deeds among the people! (1 Chronicle16:8-10)

Day 20 Brag on God and “Think Thankfully”. How many specific thank you can you give Him for all His blessings, benefits, and love? Post some of them.

I will remember the works of the Lord: surely I will remember thy wonders of old. I will meditate also of all thy work, and TALK of thy doings. Psalm 77:11-12

Day 21– Brag on God. Praise Him for His mighty works. Thank Him for everything He has done and DOES for you on a daily basis even in the midst of our mess ups.

It is good to remember that the tea kettle although up to its neck in hot water, continues to sing. (God’s Instruction Book)

Rejoice evermore… In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 1 Thessalonians 5:16, 18

Fervently Thankful,

No Matter What, Give Thanks! by Song of Joy

No Matter What, Give Thanks!

“ In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”  1 Thessalonians 5:18

Can you remember a time when you did something wrong but it worked out for your good?” One day I was reading from the book “Power of Praise” while driving. (I know, I know it was a NO-NO – reading while driving.) It was like I was drawn to keep reading. When I stopped at the traffic light on 7 Mile and Hubbard on my way to tutor some children at a home school, I was still reading when the light changed and I didn’t take off. There wasn’t anyone behind me so no one blew a horn. I just kept on reading and the next thing I knew a car came speeding by and ran the green light. I yelled, “Thank You Jesus!”.

I still had time to go, but I just sat there through another red light and thanked God. Also, I had to give my heart time to slow down because it was racing a mile a minute.  Just the thought of what might have happened If I had not been reading, “Power of Praise” scared me. l would have been hit.

I remember another time when I and two  of my daughters  were returning from shopping for a family of 3 for Angel Tree. Angel Tree is an organization that showers children with gifts whose parent/parents are incarcerated. As we were leaving the store the aroma of the popcorn was so overpowering that I broke down and purchased 3 bags. I reminded the girls to be very careful and not to drop one kernel because we were not to be eating in the car. Guess What? You may be thinking, “The girls dropped kernels.” Right! But not only did the girls drop popcorn but I did my share, but it’s how that will make you say, “WOW.”

We stopped at a traffic light (yes, another traffic light- but I wasn’t reading) on Grand River and Beech Daly to let a couple of Fire Trucks go by, but the vehicle behind me, plus 4 others didn’t stop. The Buick behind me pushed us under the Van that was in front of me. Each time there was a bump we were going even further under the van, yelling “Jesus” and throwing popcorn. It was a sight! When it was over, all the popcorn was out of the bags all over the car. When we got out of the car and I asked the girls if they were OK. My next statement was, “Daddy is going to get us. We got popcorn all over the car.” We jumped back in the car and proceeded to pick-up the popcorn before my husband, Javan got there. Psalm 34: 8(a) says, “O taste and see that the LORD is good”. Well, that popcorn tasted good, but the goodness of the LORD tasted even better!

When we got home the 3 of us headed to the basement and we prayed and thanked the Lord that we didn’t get hurt. I even got some olive oil and anointed our heads and necks so we wouldn’t be sore the next day.

Amen

Devote Yourselves to Faithful Prayer Connections(Devotions for Everyday Life)

Alfred-Lord-Tennyson-Quote-For-Kim-Butts

Devote Yourselves to Faithful Prayer

“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful” (Colossians 4:2).

When we have thankful hearts, and minds that are alert (watchful) to the enemy’s schemes, we will be better able to maintain the faithful practice of prayer. “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer” (Romans 12:12). Your family can determine to obey this command by setting aside time each day to pray individually and together. The Father will reward your faithfulness. If this time is difficult to find, sit down together and plan what activities are taking away opportunities to spend time in prayer together. It may only take a few minor adjustments to find a segment of time to pray together daily. Perhaps all it will take is to turn off the television or give up excess time at the computer, etc. Talk about what being devoted means. Ask yourselves if you are more devoted to other activities than to prayer. Determine to change your priorities if this is the case.

Awesome Lord, my busy life often gets in the way of faithfulness in my prayer life. Help me to see prayer as a natural part of every aspect of my everyday life so that intercession becomes like breathing to me. Give our family a deep desire to devote ourselves to prayer.

–Adapted from the article Living for God in the Last Days by Kim Butts, author of The Praying Family (Creative Ways to Pray Together)
Prayer Points

Praise God for his faithfulness in calling you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ (1 Cor. 1:9). Thank God for the privilege of being his adopted child. Confess those times when you’ve foolishly acted like an orphan rather than as one of God’s own children. Commit yourself to strengthening the fellowship you enjoy with Christ and with other Christians. Ask God to reveal to you anything that might hinder your fellowship with Christ.

Pray for a close and loving bond to grow between the members of your immediate family. Ask that this bond will be rooted only in Christ Jesus.
